Our confirmation program, designed for 6th – 8th
graders, is from the
“Here We Stand”
curriculum, based on “The
Lutheran Handbook”
The program focuses on the Bible (learning the books, history,
and various literary styles) and the Small Catechism (the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments,
the Apostle’s Creed, and
the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion).
As part of our program youth will participate in service projects, visit other
Christian and non-Christian
churches, assist in Sunday morning worship, and participate in a mentoring program.
Confirmation meets on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month
from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
coordinating with Tuesday Night Live. They begin
with an opening activity,
followed by large group lecture, and then move into small group discussion.
This year we will be studying the Old and New Testament.
There is a student site HERE for
students to go for make-up work and further instruction.
Affirmation of Baptism is at the beginning of their 9th grade year on Reformation
Sunday.
