MUSIC MINISTRY
AT CROSS OF CHRIST
Music and worship are integral parts of our communal life at Cross
of Christ.
It is in our worshipping together that we experience the unity of Christ
and are reminded weekly of what it is God has called us to be.
As Lutherans, we are a liturgical church, and although our worship
may take on a variety of musical styles, we remain deeply committed
to the structures
of worship as passed on to us through western Christianity.
Our services are designed to call us to focus on God
and on the grace given to us freely and undeserved through Christ
our Lord.
There are many opportunities to serve God through worship, singing,
playing instruments,
acolyting, lecturing, and being an Assistant Minister.
SOLI DEI CHOIR
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS
7:00 PM
Soli Dei Soli Dei means "to God alone" and comes from
the signature
Bach would write at the bottom of his works, Soli Dei Gloria, to
God alone be the glory.
This is exactly our purpose as a choir; to glorify God through our
singing as we strive for musical excellence.
The Choir meets on weekly for rehersal and is open to anyone who
has the desire to sing.
Membership is for adults and High School aged students.
Within the context of the choir we have several opportunities for
small group work.
We also encourage solos and duets.
